The Institute for Materials Research is a world-famous research organization, especially for metallurgy and semiconductors. The progresses accomplished in metallic glasses and alloys development noticeably contributed to the reputation of this institute. Therefore, IMR is a prime place for students to carry out master and doctorate research projects. Moreover, the large efforts in international exchanges and common research programs with other institutions highlight the open mind of the institute and the willingness to contribute to global science knowledge. Devices and literature available in IMR are really impressive, thus I am really excited to dispose of all I need to carry through my research project. My integration in the laboratory was easy, thanks to the very kind help of the members of Deformation Processing Laboratory. Therefore, it is for me a really nice opportunity to work with talented researchers in metallurgy and to discover Japanese research.
Campus Life
Institute for Materials Research is a pioneer Institute in material science. With the development of new materials for various applications in semiconductors and metallurgy this institute made great contributions in materials science field. Lots of efforts are going on in this Institute on international exchanges and common research program with all the leading universities in the world which illustrate its open mind attitude and its enthusiasm to contribute to global science knowledge. Facilities and the literature available in the IMR are remarkable. I completed my doctorate course this year from one of research centers in IMR that is Advanced Research Center of Metallic Glasses. Facilities available in this center are incomparable. The environment in the lab is very friendly and the members are very kind and helping, this made my stay in his laboratory comfortable and fruitful. After spending three good years here at IMR I can say it is a very good, rather a best place for Master and Doctorate research projects and it is welcoming for foreign students.
