Development of a New Hydrogen Storage Material for Fuel Cell Applications

2003/07/31

A high-performance lithium-based hydrogen storage material was developed. The material, including lithium, boron, and nitrogen, can store hydrogen more than 3 times higher-density than that in the conventional materials, and was thermodynamically modified for the applications by the elemental substitution techniques. The result was reported in the Nikkei NanoTechnology (web-version, June 3, 23, and July 22), and some newspapers of Nikkei (July 19), Asahi (July 23), and Kahokushimpo (July 23).
