Abstract

“SWCC x Tohoku University Co-Creation Research Center for High Functional Metals” was established at IMR on February 1st, 2024. The Cu-Ag thin wires produced in the SWCC are well known as an advanced material with both high strength and electrical conductivity. Therefore, they have been widely used for ultra-thin magnet wires and cables, electrical components, etc. The objectives of the Co-Creation Research Center are to develop innovative materials of Cu-based-alloys and their manufacturing technologies, and to develop human resources that can solve the issues with exploring the future. Specially Appointed Professor Yuichi Morishita (Director of SWCC Technology Development Division) and Professor Satoshi Awaji (Director of High Field Superconductivity Materials Research Center) are in charge of the Co-Creation Research Center, and researchers from both sides are expected to particPress Rreleaserelease
