Immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow position Computational Materials Research Initiative （Application deadline October 11(Fri.), 2013）

To promote HPCI (High Performance Computing Infrastructure) program and enhance the active collaboration with other CMSI (Computational Materials Science Initiative) organizations, CMRI (Computational Materials Research Initiative) at the Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University has been seeking for a highly qualified researcher from the worldover. We announce an immediate opening position for a postdoctoral position and encourage to apply.
Research and Job specifications (1) Development of original application programs for computational materials science: target area includes various fields of computational materials physics and computational materials engineering for functional materials and structural materials.
(2) Program tuning for supercomputer In close collaboration with active groups in CMRI, tuning of their program codes for a supercomputer is expected.
Opening Post-doctoral Researcher; 1 person
Qualification Ph.D or equivalent in the area of Physics, Materials Science/Engineering with the background of computational science
Term of the employment

November 1, 2013　～ March 31, 2014*. 
Starting date is negotiable.

*HPCI program is officially renewed each year (Fiscal Year in Japan starts in April and ends in March.) and the term is most likely extended.
Location His/her office is located at IMR (Institute for Materials Research), Tohoku University, but he/she may have opportunities to work occasionally at other locations of CMRI members upon necessity of collaboration.
