The NEDO Laboratory has been organized as the subordinate structure of the NEDO’s Metallic Glass Project carried out at IMR by RIMCOF. The NEDO Laboratory started in October 2008, and will be continued for next 3 and a half years. This laboratory was established and sponsored by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) as a milestone of metallic glass cooperative research network among the academia and the industry. The laboratory manager is University Professor Akihisa Inoue. The objectives of this project laboratory are
1) To conduct basic studies creating cm-class bulk metallic glasses and to develop its applications,
2) To offer lectures on materials science of metallic glass to educate graduate students, and
3) To call on a symposium on up to date research scenes of metallic glass and to encourage a research society of metallic glass by promoting more and more to form a network of university researchers and company researchers.
