Indo Japan Workshop on "Magnetism at the Nanoscale”

Time Dec 1(Thu)-2(Fri), 2016
Location TOKYO ELECTRON House of Creativity 3F, Lecture Theater, Katahira Campus, Tohoku University

Target
Topics

The objective of this workshop is to bring experts working in various areas of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), thin films, nanostructures and multilayers. MNPs have various applications such as data storage, high-frequency microelectronics, magnetic refrigerants, drug-targeting, cancer therapy, lymph-node imaging or hyperthermia etc. Similarly magnetic thin films have many applications and much physics to understand e.g. exchange bias effect, proximity effect and other emerging phenomena in spintronics and spin caloritronics. This workshop will be a venue for students and young scientists to discuss with the experts the state-of-the-art of the research pursued in the field of MNPs, thin films, nanostructures and multilayers. Also experts will discuss the challenges in this broad research topic which will initiate much collaboration work in order to make some significant progress in this branch of science.
