Institute for Materials Research (IMR), Tohoku University promotes outstanding research in the field of materials science based on the university's "research first" tradition, "open-door" philosophy, and "respect for practical learning" spirit, and is committed to the creation and dissemination of research results and their return to society. For the further development and activation of research activities in IMR, we are accepting applications for female faculty members (assistant professors) who are highly motivated to carry out their own research in IMR as well as for the future development of the materials science research field from the diverse perspective as follows. We are seeking a wide range of female researchers who are willing to play an active role in the materials science research fields covered by IMR.

Qualifications
(1) Women
(Based on the provisions of Article 8 of the "Equal Employment Opportunity Law" (special provisions regarding measures for female workers))
(2) Those with a doctoral degree (including prospective doctoral degree holders)
Start of Appointment
Scheduled for April 1, 2024.
(The timing of the appointment may be negotiable.)
Employment status
Full-time Assistant Professor: non-tenured 7 years (possibility of extension up to 3 years after reappointment review)
However, the term may differ depending on the research division (laboratory) or center to which the applicant wishes to belong.

(5) Future research prospects and aspirations after assuming the position (Indicate desired research department (laboratory) and center, etc.) (2 pages of A4 paper)

Selection way 

Selection will be made on the basis of the submitted documents and interviews will be conducted if necessary (travel expenses for interviews will be borne by the applicant).
